This song made Friday night's Panama! 2 record release party turn into the biggest explosion of dancing I've ever seen in SF. It was magical.

It is kind of a rare Sergio Mendes song that has more obvious African influences then Latin and Big Band (rare to hear coming from Sergio). To me, this is "body music." Soul music, in a way.


Here is a great article written by Jennifer Maerz for SF Weekly about Beto's adventures collecting super rare records for the Panama! and Columbia! compilations on Soundway Records. For me it's a reminder of why a lot of us do crazy/fun traveling just to get our hands on good vinyl.
