Crazy that all these bands from LA, NY and here in SF are doing what one of the boys from NODZZZ called "second-wave shoe gaze." Here is the latest incarnation, the Dum Dum Girls from the City of Angels. Each song shimmers and is all reverb and fuzz reminicent of the most obvious influences, Black Tambourine and MBV circa Ecstasy/Strawberry Wine. I especially love the fact that she is a librarian who is doing the whole project by herself.
