Movies With Style: Valerie a týden divu

For Halloween and Día de los Muertos, here is one of my favorite vampire movies, Valerie a Týden Divu (Valerie and Her Week of Wonders), based on Vítězslav Nezval's novel (I have it and it is just as lovely). It isn't a scare fest. Instead, it is a beautiful, gothic tale mixing Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood and Dracula. The strong performances, sensuousness, and the lush baroque styling makes me come back to watch it again and again.
